Border guards thwart infiltration attempt into Libya

MARSA MATROUH - Egypt - 12 July 2017: Border guards at the Egyptian-Libyan borders and Mersa Matruh security forces thwarted on Tuesday an infiltration attempt by 27 people into Libya through the desert routes of the city of Salloum.

Security director of Mersa Matruh Major General Mukhtar Al Sanbari was notified by Salloum police station that 27 people were arrested, including two from Minya, 19 from Assiout and three from Sohag governorates, in addition to two from Fayoum and another one from Marsa Matruoh while they were illegally attempting to cross into Libya.

All legal measures were taken against the suspects and they will be investigated by the prosecution in Matrouh.
